EF FAQs

1What Is Executive Skills Coaching?
Executive Skills Coaching is a skills-based, non-clinical coaching program designed to help students and adults build the executive functioning skills they need to succeed academically and independently. Executive functioning skills include organization, time management, planning, task initiation, follow-through, and self-regulation. When these skills are underdeveloped, even highly capable individuals can feel overwhelmed, stuck, or constantly behind. Executive Functioning Coaching focuses on teaching practical strategies and systems—not diagnosing or treating mental health conditions.
2Who Do We Serve?
Middle school students struggling with organization, routines, and follow-through. High school students facing increased academic demands and expectations for independence. College students navigating time management, workload, and self-directed learning. Adults experiencing executive overwhelm at work or home.
3How Does Coaching Work?
Executive Skills Coaching is: Individualized – strategies are tailored to how each client thinks and works. Practical – focused on real assignments, schedules, and responsibilities. Structured – sessions follow a clear, predictable format. Skill-focused – emphasizes learning and practice, not judgment. Coaching sessions are offered 1:1 and in small groups, depending on need and availability. All services are private pay.
4What is the Difference Between Coaching and Therapy?
Executive Skills Coaching is not psychotherapy and does not involve diagnosis or mental health treatment. When clients are also working with a therapist at The ZPH Group, coaching can serve as a complementary service, helping clients apply coping and regulation strategies to daily academic or life demands. Collaboration occurs only with appropriate consent and clear role boundaries.
